Awards/Certificates
Distinguished Service Award
An award is given to a service/organization/business who has demonstrated excellence, standing above others in servicing Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
Humanitarian Award
This award is given to a person who is having concern for or helping to improve the welfare and happiness of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Population. His/her action may be pertaining to special group(s) within the population; saving human lives or to the alleviation of suffering from oppression, discrimination due to hearing loss and/or cultural identity and deprivation of communication and social contact; or actively
engaged devoted to the promotion human welfare and advancement of social reforms through profession, advocacy and charity.
NAD Unsung Hero Award
This award be given to Deaf person who voluntarily work “behind the scene” and rarely seeks a leadership or chairperson role; and/or whose volunteer work went beyond the call of duty for the betterment of the Deaf Community. The recipient must be deaf NJAD members of more than 3 years.
NAD Golden Hand Award
This award be given to any individual or organization for ongoing (active & current) out standing and innovative service efforts to enhance the lives of Deaf people in their community on local or state level on a voluntarily basis.
Special Recognition Certificate
A certificate of Special Recognition be given to a person who deserve attention or acknowledge of this person’s achievement, service, merit that pertains to Deaf community in NJ.
Appreciation Certificate
This certificate is given to person(s) who show(s) sensitivity and awareness toward Deaf Community, and whose efforts provided equal access in the hearing community to allow deaf people’s participation. This certificate is also a gesture of gratitude or a thankful
recognition given to a person whose action, involvement or voluntary raise the bar in quality, value, significance, or magnitude of the program, services, event or concept; language, history and identity; or media including arts, literature and entertainment that Deaf people and Deaf Community.
