NJAD is focusing in membership retention & growth within the organization in order to improve the voice of the community within the state of New Jersey. In order to make a great impact with the state's affairs, the governmental affairs rely on the constituents’ votes. Their assessment relies on 4 votes based on a person. NJAD is now approximately 300 members in the organization, therefore the governmental people will determine NJAD contains 1,200 votes. This is relatively a very small organization to make a great impact on state of New Jersey. NJAD needs more members in order to become a strong organization within the state of New Jersey. We need your support to make NJAD a strong organization to enforce a better changes/improvements within the state of New Jersey. Come and support NJAD by becoming one of our prestigious members.
NJAD is working with State of New Jersey’s Emergency Management Agency (NJEMA) to improve the accessibility with their hearing loss citizens. In the case of natural disaster and/or any emergency occurring in the state of New Jersey. NJ’s emergency management people may not be aware how to help and deal with any people who do not communicate through voice/speech. In this program, we, NJAD, are helping Division of Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services to educate/promote the knowledge how to work with the Deaf & Hard of Hearing residents of NJ in case of emergency. NJAD is also providing workshops throughout the state of New Jersey educating all Deaf & Hard of Hearing residents what to expect and what to do during the disaster. Your safety comes first!
NJAD is working to set up NJ’s first Deaf Senior Housing (An Adult Community) in the state of New Jersey. We are trying to set up an acceptable living environment for our hearing loss citizens where they can live and get involved with their community affairs without any communication barriers. It will be great to live a place where everyone respects your method of communication!
